Forty-five minutes on the ridge above the lodge as the sun comes over the valley
Hot stones go into the pot with mutton, potatoes and carrots. You watch it made the way herders make it, then eat it at the long table.
No grid, no light pollution. A guide walks you through the constellations from the fire pit with hot milk tea or something stronger.
An hour on foot around the valley: granite tors, larch forest, the river, and how the park works.
Guided rides from the lodge paddock into the Terelj hills. Calm Mongolian horses, a herder guide, helmets available. From one hour to a full day.
